Designer and consignment apparel at Haute and Swagger in Fort Lauderdale

Haute and Swagger has a distinct business design, in that it offers new and vintage designer clothes, plus designer clothing on consignment. The boutique carries an array of designer brands including:
The clothing in the store is chic and great for label lovers or anyone who loves fashion, though it has received mixed reviews online. Many of the pieces perfectly represent the designers they come from, like a Missoni dress with the company's trademark multi-colored stripes hanging in the window or a pair of bright yellow Ralph Lauren strappy sandals.

The store has a lot of funky pieces, such as the colorful cowboy/stiletto boots pictured at left. The space is open and clean and the clothing is color-coordinated throughout, so that pieces of one color fade into another. Owner Suzanne Whalen describes the vibe of the store as "SOHO chic meets Indochina."

The boutique has been in business at its current location since the fall of 2011. Pricing is varied since there are new designer pieces mixed in with consignment pieces, and runs from $19 to $800. Owner Whalen believes that the clothing pays for itself, however, as she says:
"Something is only worth what you're willing to pay for it."

Recently Whalen held an in-store event to raise money for cystic fibrosis and another for Gold Coast Magazine's person of the year. She has had fundraising events for Kids in Distress and the Children's Home Society. This past January 28 was the store's formal grand opening, held in conjunction with a street party put on by the stores of the block.

Haute and Swagger is located at 911 N.E. 20th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304. There is no parking lot directly in front of the store, rather there is very limited metered parking. If you don't want to pay to park, there is a parking lot around the corner and back of the store. To learn more, visit Haute and Swagger's web site. They also have a Facebook page
